mini favorites

surprisingly enough, we’ve found that the older logan gets the less equipment she requires on a daily basis. give her a bag of wipes, a remote controller and plenty of floor space and she’s good for hours. these are a few of our favorite, most recent purchases during this stage of the game.

1. mam mini cooler teether with clip – perfect for sore gums, this teether has a cooler-less handle so as not to freeze mini fingers and a clip that keeps everything clean from constant drops on the not so tidy floor.

2. plum organics super puffs – not only do babies love these treats but they make for the perfect distraction when you’re out + about and on the verge of a meltdown.

3. britax marathon convertible car seat – new to us, as our legs keep growing, so far this seat has proven to be super comfortable and most importantly highly rated on the safety meter.

4. skip hop bath spout cover – a must when your little starts roaming the cast iron tub.

5. 7am enfant le sac igloo – warmest thing ever. hands down, this is getting us through the cold winter months. it easily adapts to the stroller and/or car seat and has the ability to strip down when the temperatures begin to rise. as a bonus, it creates a pretty comfy oasis for snoozing on the move.

6. boon plum dispensing spoon – throw in your purse along side a puree pouch and you’ve got the simplest meal to go. love these!

‘ a portrait of logan, once a week, every week, in 2013 ‘

brown eyed girl.

this portrait absolutely melts my heart! and although this project has inspired me to pull out my real camera on a daily basis, more often than not i find that my phone captures the unexpected candid shots that stick in my mind. why stress over the dozens of images that i lack the ability to edit and perfect, when one as simple as this makes me the happiest of all.

logan month-by-month

logan turned nine months this week and in an effort to slow down i’ve noticed all the things that make this little lady’s personality shine. i want to remember forever…the way her teeny fingers slowly turn the page of a board book when queued to ‘turn the page’. the way she holds her palm out to tell me she’s finished eating and full. the way she opens her mouth and lets me feed her rice puffs like a baby bird because otherwise the little pieces get lost in her chubby hands. the way she excitedly reacts when she catches her reflection in the tub overflow plate while having a bath. the way she scales our furniture in an attempt to walk while licking the cooler surfaces she comes in contact with. the smile she wears when she spots other miniatures in view. the way she shakes her head fastly back and forth while making us majorly motion sick. the way she stops everything and starts bouncing to the beat when hears a musical tune. and my most favorite, the way she crawls over, wraps her hands around my neck and mauls my face open mouthed when i return from my day. this girl is the absolute best!

‘ a portrait of logan, once a week, every week, in 2013 ‘

2012 will forever be the year that changed me. while motherhood is amazing no doubt, it’s been a challenging yet insightful journey. i used to be a care-free girl, selfishly wrapped up in myself and completely comfortable and confident in my skin. this past year…not so much. i’m here, just feeling different, and some days a bit uncomfortable. i’m used to constantly being on the go and continuously, whole heartedly, jumping into every project that comes my way. although its chaotic, it’s always been my way. these days, a particular set of chubby cheeks demand for a different life style that i’m still getting used to. i’m learning to patiently surrender and enjoy this slower pace of life. with the help of my better half, I’ve decided that 2013 is for easing up on myself, taking a deep breath and welcoming a different comfort and familiarity through this new role in motherhood. i owe it to this tiny being. i’m her world, as she is mine.

inspired by some of my favorite cyber mamas, i’m starting a new project in hopes of capturing the life’s simple pleasures. 52 a portrait a week.

logan: my girl, content and happy as usual.

xmas magic

a few shots of our first christmas as a family of three. it’s true what they say, the holidays are magical with a mini around. we watched the magic unfold before our eyes as lo went bonkers for all the paper, bows and unwrapped presents. i’m already excited for what next year will bring! i think those cheeks have had enough kisses for a lifetime. speaking of cheeks, i better get to them while i can…
