for the littles

the littles are just as fun to shop for as the ladies in my life. i’ve learned that color, texture and functionality are what interests the mind of a mini. with that said, i think santa may be placing some of these favorites under our tree, while i gift some myself to our special little friends near and far.

logan month-by-month

this expression looks vaguely familiar (insert wink). we’re in full holiday swing around here and although the preparations seem to take that much longer with a little roaming around, they feel a bit more magical through small eyes. little lo is mesmerized by all the lights, ornaments and teeny pine needles that blanket our floors. and lets not forget the booty shakin’ that takes place during one particular xmas tune and…the special place in her heart for those lovely blow up lawn figurines (insert gag). and one more thing…santa, yeah let’s not mention him.

for the ladies

the ladies in my life are my most favorite to shop for this holiday season and always (aside from the littles of course). whether it be something kitschy for the home, an unexpected accessory, or a wearable bauble, the options are endless. although i may have had some particular ladies in mind while making these selections, i think most gals would be happy with something from above. and heck, i’d take one of each myself while you’re at it.

winter wonderland

i’ve been pining for a visit to terrain ever since reading + drooling over brunette’s post here and just haven’t found time to make a visit. this past weekend we found ourselves with an unplanned schedule and the need for a xmas tree…and then the light bulb went off. you can’t ask for a more magical time of year to visit this cozy winter wonderland. the people of anthropology know how to do it up, down to every last teeny detail and decoration. bon fires, pine needles, twinkle lights, hot drinks, holiday music and good company kept us occupied for a few hours while we cruised in awe of all the delicious decorations. it was the absolute perfect afternoon with my most favorite people.

seriously? it’s time to look back on the past month already! i’m a little weepy that the year is coming to an end so soon, however i have to admit i look forward to wrapping up december’s daily photo and calling it a day. i’m excited to take the subject matter back into my own hands. until then, i’m putting my best eye forward and making this my most favorite compiled month yet. here’s your very last chance to join me. and seriously, you can do it!

deck the halls

oddly enough, i’m usually not one for personal holiday decorating. a simple tree + some garland and i’m content for the season. however this year, the expression on a seven month olds face over the lights and chaos has been enough to completely sway my style. so this weekend, it’s time to deck the halls. we’re leaving tradition in the attic and starting fresh. i see pom-poms, prints and a teeny bit of sparkle in our very near future!

simply wanted

rather than hit the malls early this morning, i nestled under the covers and cruised my favorite shops from bed. as always, i’m in a layering mood. however this year comfort and mobility are top priorities. enough about me, time to get moving and find the perfect gifts for our loved ones. tis the season…

logan month-by-month

i never would have imagined that in seven short months my squishy newborn would turn into a real live teeny human so quickly. this baby kills me with cuteness on a daily basis. if it’s not the chubby ham bones, little crawling tush, side shuffling steps across our furniture or unintentional but oh so heart panging calls of mama and dada, the smirky smile while waving bye-bye will get you e v e r y  s i n g l e  t i m e. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it a million times over, this girl stole my heart and has it so full it’s about to burst!

remembering a special dude

sunday morning, brunette and i joined team peloton 65 in the annual lemon run put on by alex’s lemonade stand foundation in support of the fight against childhood cancer. this event is near and dear to my heart, as this is the second year we’ve gathered as a team to walk in memory of one special little dude, thomas. every year in canada, roughly 65 children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma and thomas just so happened to be one of those children diagnosed in 2007. he fought the disease with immense courage and bravery (and the cutest damn smile) until he lost his battle last september. our family near and far thanks everyone who participated and supported this special event.

october kicked off fall with a bang. we spent the majority of its thirty-one days introducing logan to our most favorite time of year. november brings yet another month of new traditions to be thankful for. happy snapping!
